This is a scan of THE 1986 BULLET, also known as the "Rat Bible."  A Rat Bible is handed out to each cadet as they matriculate into VMI.  The Rat Bible contains pertinent information about VMI including history, honor system, corps structure, etc.  The cadets must memorize the Rat Bible and be prepared to recite any part of it when prompted by an upper classman.  During the cadet's first year, they are known as rats until the First Class decides they have reached a certainly level of maturity to constitute a class at VMI.  The rats then go through a right of passage called "break-out" after which they are known as Fourth Classmen.
